The VQ11-2SP carries two 12,000 RPM built-in spindles on one head, 400mm apart, machining two identical parts in the same cycle. It ships in the standard configuration below.

The spindle head is built to a thermal symmetry design so both spindles drift alike as the machine warms. One spindle carries a W axis with 0.8 in / 20 mm of travel, used to dial out the tool-length difference between the two spindles — so a pair of tools that are not identical in stick-out still cut two matching parts.
Each spindle is a built-in motor unit with a rigid shaft and high-pressure cooling, rated 15 / 22 kW and 63.7 / 118 Nm. Two-speed electric shifting covers both ends of the range — torque down low, power up high. Every spindle assembly is dynamically balanced on its own, which keeps resonance out of the cut at full speed.
Linear guides on X, Y and Z carry 1,417 ipm / 36 m/min rapids. The ball screws are pre-stretched, which raises transmission rigidity and takes thermal growth out of the positioning error during fast moves.
Each spindle has its own cam-driven servo magazine, changing tool to tool in 1.5 seconds. A built-in tool release cylinder replaces the usual pneumatic-hydraulic converter — less space, faster response, and a compact hydraulic power unit that draws less energy.
The Japanese LUBE centralized grease system uses markedly less lubricant than an oil system and keeps it out of the coolant, which extends coolant life and keeps the working area cleaner.
Internal rear chip flushing and an external chain-type chip conveyor are both standard, clearing chips from twin-spindle cutting rates without an add-on.
